Born in a small community outside of Sacramento California, Dr. Marc Valley received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of California in 1980. In 1984, he received his medical degree from Loma Linda University Medical School in California. After completing his surgical internship in Los Angeles, California, Dr. Valley joined the Air Force to complete his residency in Anesthesiology and his Pain Management fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Since leaving the Air Force in 1996, Dr. Valley has been in private practice in Arkansas and most recently in Eastern Tennessee. Dr. Marc Valley has been the medical director at CIRCE Medical Services since 2012.
Dr. Valley is a member of the International Spinal Injection Society, the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, and the International Neuromodulation Society. His clinical interests include minimally invasive spinal surgery, cancer pain, and neuropathic pain. Dr. Valley and his wife Patricia have five children.
Sherry Owens joined the CIRCE Medical Services team in 2013 as a Nurse Practitioner. Ms. Owens received her A.S. in Nursing in 2001. She obtained her B.S. in Nursing in 2009 and her Master of Science degree in Nursing in 2012 from Southern Adventist University.
Prior to joining the CIRCE Medical Services team, Ms. Owens served as a Critical Care Registered Nurse in the Erlanger Medical Center's Shock Trauma Intensive Care Unit and received certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Ms. Owens is a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Ms. Owens sees patients at our Chattanooga Clinic.
Ashley Pierson, PA-C
Ashley Pierson joined CIRCE Medical Services as a Physician Assistant in November 2014. Ms. Pierson completed her BA in Psychology, magna cum laude, at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and received her MS in Physician Assistant Studies, summa cum laude, from Southern University.
Before joining our team, Ms. Pierson worked at Mountain State Medical Group's Johnson City Trauma Center, where she obtained certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Traumatic Life Support (ATLS), and assisted with surgical procedures.
Ms. Pierson is a provider at our Johnson City Clinic.
